Frequently Asked Questions

Contact a water damage restoration company first. The priority is to stop further water damage and begin drying immediately. The sooner our Lower Mainland crew arrives, the more damage we prevent — and we document everything to help you file your insurance claim.

Water damage restoration is completed in phases. First we extract all standing and excess water from hardwood, carpet, and other materials. Next come evaporation and dehumidification, monitored with professional equipment until your home is thoroughly dry. Repairs may include drywall removal, carpet cleaning, wet-floor repair, odour control, and mould removal.

You can usually stay unless the restoration manager advises otherwise. Noise alone isn’t typically a deciding factor — the main considerations are health, safety, and access to essential services like heat, water, or washrooms.

It’s done in two phases. The emergency phase — drying, cleaning, and removing unsalvageable materials — usually takes 2–7 days. The repair phase can take up to a few weeks depending on the severity of the damage.

Cost depends on the severity of the flood, the size of the affected area, and the drying time required. Check with your insurance adjuster — most covered claims only require you to pay your deductible. Acting fast keeps costs (and the risk of denied coverage) down.

Fans and dehumidifiers typically run for 2–7 days to dry the structure, and we monitor them regularly to confirm thorough drying.

Please don’t — turning the equipment off slows drying and can lead to additional costs from a longer drying process.

Depending on who covers the claim, the homeowner may be reimbursed. Ask your project manager for details.

All standing water still needs to be extracted and your home dried. We can be hired privately and will provide a quote before any work begins.

A deductible is the preset amount you pay on an insurance claim before your insurer covers the rest.

We work with all insurance companies — and we’ll bill them directly too.
